Plug me in – Enhancing WordPress

For anyone interested, these are the plugins I currently use. I’m experimenting with one not listed but it has to prove itself before it gets any credits.

  • Spam Karma 2 (absolutely incredible, occasionally some trackback spam gets through but this just makes it all manageable)
  • Audio Player (slick way to include audio on the site)
  • Live (for the stat addicted, it shows the ip of someone on your blog while they are there, whether or not they are on the site or rss, if they are leaveing a comment etc) (Note: stat addiction can be cured. Don’t judge the success of your blog on "stats")
  • Flickr Photo Gallery (adds a tab on the upload box that allows you to easily paste several size pictures from your Flickr account)
  • Subscribe to comments (gives your readers the ability to request an email when someone replies to a particular comment thread)
  • Time Zone (automates daylight savings time adjustments so that the times on your posts are always correct) (wonder if it will break in 2007)

  1. Spam Karma is one of the best things about wordpress. I get an unbelievable amount of comment spam, and I never see any of it.

For dragging and dropping pictures and other files, I use .

  2. Ok, I’m having issues with my html.

  3. Someone else below asked this already.
I am getting nailed with Spam in my website for our blog website. Is there anyway to stop this? If not, there really isn’t any point in leaving it up and active. Any help will be greatly appreciated. http://www.profesjonalna-reklama.pl

Thanks Keep up the good work. Greetings from Poland

  4. A lot spam that does slip through is trackback spam. Turning off trackbacks would help reduce your spam. However, trackbacks are valuable to creating back and forth traffic between sites and search engine placement. I like trackbacks. I have read many sites purely on trackbacks alone.

  5. Plus, there are tons of good plugins for spam blocking, depending on your client. Most of them are easy to use and involve very little work on your part.

  6. BTW – djuggler – did you get my email?

  7. I’ll check. I only check juggler@gmail once a week or so.

  9. Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam, spam, and spam!

  12. Thanks Keep up the good work.
