  1. Depends on the restaurant. Papa Johns? no, certainly not, but if you are purchasing the food through a server then a small tip is appreciated. Servers tend to make an hourly wage that basically covers their taxes and are taxed based (I’m not sure exactly how) on their food sales. It’s assumed that they will make a certain percentage of their food sales in tips. Again, I don’t know exactly how it works, but if you are dealing with a server who relies on tips, then a little something helps balance it out. However, as more chain restaurants offer more and more curbside/carryout options, they may be increasing the hourly wage of any server assigned to work that position.
