They took my name and email address and that was it. Apparently you need some kind of invite? But like I said, until you can actually get in and use it, what use is it? It's a feature they have that I'm not sold on. Unless you are following the whole line of responses, individual videos are almost meaningless (with some exceptions like the book video). It is a total time sink, with the opportunity to form bonds and connections to other people, but if its a choice between television and Seesmic, there are many nights I'd choose Seesmic over channel surfing.
