Explaining WWII to My Children

Click title to start image from the beginning.

Original image.

And could someone explain to me how Photobucket managed to disable the “Save Image As..” link in the context menu of IE7 AND prevented Firefox3 from using Save As.. in the Page Info/Media window?

  1. At first I thought you were explaining the Nintendo Wii (or WII, if shouting) to your kids, but realized you dropped a W. 🙂

I’m just as curious as to how these photo services are dropping the ability to save the photos they are hosting. Doesn’t make any sense to me. They may prevent casual “theft” of the images or lazy saving, but it doesn’t stop anyone from taking a screenshot and cropping the image in Photoshop.

  2. This looks like a Vista problem. Someone emailed the gif to me and I still cannot save it.

I usually try to refer to the source but I often save a backup (particularly if its Youtube) so that if the site goes down or disappears I can repost the content.

  3. For instance, the photobucket account has now exceeded its bandwidth limits.

  4. Oh! I just re-read your comment and looked at the title. Seems I typo’d wwii to be wii.

  5. rofl – i cried with tears down my cheeks at this – still funny on second time thru!
