Michael Silence announced the availability of tickets on Tuesday and I immediately called. They said by Wednesday morning they had to quit taking calls as all tickets would be distributed to the calls already received. The park service is entering names into the computer based upon the time the calls/emails were received then distributing the tickets on a first come basis. Attendees will park in Pigeon Forge and be bussed up at staggered times beginning at 8:30am. They anticipate the last bus will roll off the mountain at 3:15pm. Trails near Newfoundland Gap including the AT will be closed during the event. Funny how those free or tax paid government services keep cropping up in our lives.
