Well, now, just like every time to you clap your hands a fairy dies..is that right?..clapping? and fairies? There’s something about hands and kittens dying too. Neither here nor there because now you can kill a programmer! To date, 46479 have been eradicated. Yes, with just the click of the mouse, you can fry one of those frustrating nerds! Lovin’ the black censor bar!

When I posted I’m moving to France! I saw today’s post in the comments. Btw, if you haven’t watched I’m moving to France!, go do it now and for added fun start both videos at the same time!

Today’s video reminds me of college for some reason. These people are so happy! I bet there’d be no terrorism if more people played with the black censor bar. The guy in the cowboy hat at the end of the video is my new hero!

(I replaced this fuzzy Youtube video with the much clearer DailyMotion video that appears to actually be placed by The BPA)

This is the "Toe Jam" video by Fatboy Slim featuring David Byrne and Dizzee Rascal. I find it altogether too amusing. When I first discovered this one there were just over 6000 views. It’ll be interesting to see how fast those numbers grow.

Update: Some information about this hit video from the Fall of 2008. The Toe Jam song was released July 15, 2008 by The BPA (Brighton Port Authority an alias for musician Norman Cook who is better known as Fatboy Slim. I am becoming a Fatboy Slim fanboy as I was in awe of his Weapons of Choice video featuring Christoper Walken. Toe Jam is a collaboration with David Byrne and Dizzee Rascal. The video is directed by Keith Schofield (Keith Haverbrooks, Eric Schoman and Jeff Mayfield). The Toe Jam song lives on the I Think We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat album released January 6, 2009. There is a video that is much crisper but it bleeps the dirty word. So, who’s got the raw footage and outtakes?

The BPA also ran a contest which ended March 1, 2009 allowing people to download the Toe Jam song and make their own videos as a promotion for their album release. Although the contest has ended, Toe Jam is still available for download.

Too much open..here comes the link dump

I often will see a link in Twitter or on Popurls and open it in another Firefox tab with the intention of reading it and/or blogging about it. Sometimes the link opens a picture that I want to photoshop. More times than not I skim these articles in 30 seconds and leave them for later. Eventually I dump them to Delicious tagged "toread" or "toblog" or I bookmark all the tabs in Firefox and close the window. In either case, I rarely return to the article and you miss out of mind altering, earth shattering, life changing commentary and information that sits collecting dust on an electronic shelf. One of these links could have saved the world! So, for society, I give you my tabs: (click more to read them) Continue reading Too much open..here comes the link dump

Nothing to see here – go outside

Watch this video and then you’ll have no reason to look at anything else on the Internet for at least 24 hours. So yYou are free to go outside and enjoy this beautiful Earth Day! I’m going to get back to work.

Update: That video quit being amusing the second the person was revealed as a registered sex offender.

Knoxify’s Friday Five

Knoxify is an excellent example of hyperlocal group blogging. The site has a beautiful design with a pleasant balance of photos and words with easy navigation to relevant information. The topic matter is Knoxville, TN and the articles always well written. To make Knoxify even better, they’ve introduced First Friday Five to feature the wonderful non-profits in Knoxville and encourage the Knoxify readers to donate $5 to the organization.

For their first First Friday Five, Knoxify choose one of my favorite non-profits, FISH Hospitality Pantries. FISH provides food and basic staples to any person or family in Knoxville who needs it with no questions asked. People of all economic backgrounds can find themselves in tight economic positions and FISH exists to make sure that no one goes hungry. Well chosen Knoxify!

Chattanooga also has First Friday Five.

Support Microsoft

You can get your mugshot on the big screen in Times Square by saying "I’m a PC and …." if you want to support Microsoft by participating in their counter ads to Apple’s famous "I’m a Mac" ads.

I personally would like to see every participant holding an apple, biting into an apple, or have the Apple logo somewhere in the shot. I think I’ll record, "I’m a PC because Steve Jobs won’t send me a free Macbook Pro."

Read her story – Motherhood and Cancer

A dear friend of mine from college is battling cancer. Her heart wrenching updates to her blog will bring tears to your eyes. She is a wonderful mother and a wonderful person!

I would like to make it to 50. That’s only 16 years away. Captain Adorable won’t even be 18, but he will have had me for his entire childhood and his formative years. Barring that, I would really like to live long enough to teach him to read. [Source]
