* Worked on a new marketing flyer this morning. Looking good. Plan on mass distributing it beginning this afternoon

* Took son to psychologist for his weekly appointment. Roughly 1.5 weeks worth of medicine left (note to self, budget $35 for refills)

* Several calls to other local developers to market my consulting services to them

* Call to head hunter to see how many people are fighting over my resume–got voicemail

* Lied down to rest and brainstorm (hide). Deep sleep.

* Sears called seeking blood from a turnip. Due date Jan 25 Past due currently $72. Collector asks “Can’t you borrow some money to avoid the late fee?” My thought “No, I may need to borrow money to feed my family!”

* Current fear… NBC will close my checking account if I don’t show activity in it soon

A New Day!

Had some very nice closing remarks for last night but lost them due to scheduled maintenance–sorta my luck. Basically I calmed and remembered the ever logical words of a friend of mine regarding creditors “they can’t eat you.” We will pull through this somehow.

Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

Time to get the kids ready for school.

Friend comes through! Had an unbelieveable phone call from an online friend. Was our first verbal introduction and I was completely thrown both from the unexpected call and that his voice sounded distinctly like an old friend of mine. He generously is putting me in touch with a client of his that I will be able to help.

* Paid Comcast only to later discover that I could have waited until the end of the month. Someone had simply turned the volume all the way down on the television. That money should have gone to Cingular. It’s interesting trying to keep everyone happy while watching the funds dwindle away.

* Birthday celebration for the father-in-law

* Added art machine to switch box; now resides on a failing monitor that gets dimmer everyday. Surprisingly that’s metaphorically quite similar to my situation.

* Phone interview scheduled for Wednesday for a contract job in Memphis. Let’s see. IF the job comes through, I have no money for food, travel or lodgings in Memphis and it’ll be a couple of weeks AFTER they make their hiring decision before I see a paycheck so income could be 4-6 weeks away. How the Hell does that work?!

Once our society beats you down, I don’t see how anyone ever gets up again.

Time to join the fad. For a year I’ve wanted to write my own blog program and that sums me up. I have several great ideas that fail to leave the ground for one reason or another.

Here are today’s events that inspired me to become a publisher:

* Found potential jobs in Careers section of paper last night, went to apply only to note that applications must be sent by mail (ergo, I’ll be out of food before those turn into money)

* Printer has run out of color ink (no marketing flyers)

* Bank 1 has run out of money; bank 2 will dry up tomorrow

* Microsoft word crashes on the computer that works

* As a web developer, my equipment supports me. So the monitor on my graphics machine died leaving only this monitor which is in the process of dying. So when it goes, how do I support myself and family? [had I been blogging it would be quite humorous to flood the stream of dying equipment in my house– video cards, starter motors, dryer, kids scooters (both brand new), sink, sink, sink, sink, faucet, faucet, faucet and more
