Posted by djuggler in : Daily Life* Hind quarters getting sore. Have now applied online to one job possibility and signed up with another recruiter. A good friend helped search out several others and has inspired me to barage people with resumes and cover letters at a rapid pace. Must break for coffee and maybe a brief bit of reading. I am disappointed that I did not get marketing materials out today. I’m detecting a pattern since I’ve been trying to get these into the right hands since before Christmas–fear? procrastination? ambivalence? decision through lack of decision?

Posted by djuggler in : Daily Life* Sent 3 marketing emails to other web developers in the area – hopefully this will at least help get my name out a bit
* Did some brain stimulation by helping to solve someone else’s problem online – no avail – tis still broke
* Update domain information and set up 2 more domains with my host and setup email so that I could send marketing email with the correct viral marketing. Tis silly to ask your competitors to use you as a sub when your website says you compete with them.

I love my time with my kids. Getting ready for bedtime is the best with baby in lap reading stories to each other. First I read to her, then she reads to me. I need more such quality time with the older ones. The 10 year old is grousing over an unfinished long term project. I fear we are reinforcing her procrastination. Must work on that. The 13 year old is in the bath going on 1.5 hours now. And the 7 year old is lying in bed reading (and sneaking play time with the Playmobile). He’s an angel!

Posted by djuggler in : Daily Life* MBNA Collectors called. Asked for $100 some odd then reduced it to $53 when I said “no can do”. Then when I said “nothing to give” they also jumped on the “can’t you borrow it from someone” bandwagon. Due date Jan 8.
* kids fed – time flying – not having fun
The next 1.5 hours will be spent getting the kids to bed. No work will get done.

Had some very nice closing remarks for last night but lost them due to scheduled maintenance–sorta my luck. Basically I calmed and remembered the ever logical words of a friend of mine regarding creditors “they can’t eat you.” We will pull through this somehow.
Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:
Time to get the kids ready for school.

Posted by djuggler in : Daily LifeFriend comes through! Had an unbelieveable phone call from an online friend. Was our first verbal introduction and I was completely thrown both from the unexpected call and that his voice sounded distinctly like an old friend of mine. He generously is putting me in touch with a client of his that I will be able to help.

* Decent marketing piece completed. These are like restuarant table toppers and will go by every cash register of every business in town that will have one–all with a dysfunctional phone number. Next comes the flyer style for bulletin boards.

* Phone interview scheduled for Wednesday for a contract job in Memphis. Let’s see. IF the job comes through, I have no money for food, travel or lodgings in Memphis and it’ll be a couple of weeks AFTER they make their hiring decision before I see a paycheck so income could be 4-6 weeks away. How the Hell does that work?!

Posted by djuggler in : Daily LifeTime to join the fad. For a year I’ve wanted to write my own blog program and that sums me up. I have several great ideas that fail to leave the ground for one reason or another.
Here are today’s events that inspired me to become a publisher:
* Found potential jobs in Careers section of paper last night, went to apply only to note that applications must be sent by mail (ergo, I’ll be out of food before those turn into money)
* Printer has run out of color ink (no marketing flyers)
* Bank 1 has run out of money; bank 2 will dry up tomorrow
* Microsoft word crashes on the computer that works
* As a web developer, my equipment supports me. So the monitor on my graphics machine died leaving only this monitor which is in the process of dying. So when it goes, how do I support myself and family? [had I been blogging it would be quite humorous to flood the stream of dying equipment in my house– video cards, starter motors, dryer, kids scooters (both brand new), sink, sink, sink, sink, faucet, faucet, faucet and more
