  • Goodbye Google – We will miss your logos

As Microsoft gears up to take on Google in both search engines and the blogsphere, other competitors such as Blinkx and IceRocket.com jump to the scene. Ice Rocket is funded out of Cuba!

  • Progress!

Instead of multitasking and getting very little of anything done, I focused on my European client and spent the day fixing some behind the scenes issues that have been holding me back. Also made major head way on the user manipulation side of the database which is going to open large doors to getting the signup process completed.

The afternoon sun is here and Sarah wants me to take her to the mall to sign up for a contest. I fear she is going to have a real problem learning the negative side of “free” stuff. Her uncle bought her a lottery ticket and when she only matched one number her response to our “people don’t win these things” was “we need another ticket!” Anyhow, time for some quality time.

  • Tommy Helps?

I’m listening to Tommy help cut the back yard. I cringe everytime I hear the brand new mowerblade rip through another stick. The concept of clearing the area that he is going to mow and the reasons for doing so just don’t stick in Tommy’s head.

  • Singing Bush Out of Office

Springsteen, Dixie Chicks, Pearl Jam coming to Michigan, stumping against Bush

“Staged by the left-leaning political groups MoveOn and America Coming Together (ACT), the Vote For Change tour comes dur…”
O.K. The disclaimer paragraph that separates this from an official “we are doing this for Kerry” action.
While the events are not officially affiliated with the Kerry campaign, many of the tour’s artists have been associated with previous Democratic causes and have spoken out publicly against President Bush.

  • Firefighting

Averted a grease fire in the oven. Hmm.. Yet another of working from home instead of an office!

  • Focus

I have a task to do. A commitment that was made. I am going to focus on that task and get it done. Everything else will work out.

Making such a decision alone is comforting.

  • Poem – Water Down the Hill

    Water flows downhill

    Enjoying Nature’s beauty

    As it goes

    Never trying to return

    Up the mountain

    To revisit its past.

    Ever accepting of its course

    Destiny offers little choice

Other than to decide its distance

    From the shore.

    Perhaps to eddy is allowed

But not acccepted by the main stream crowd.

“We rush down. Why do you wait?”

“Do you not ponder from which we came?”

“Do you wish to go upstream? You are insane!”

“Do you remember sites of yesterday?”

“Do you not see the things yet to be?”

    Try, try as it might

    The water cannot win

    The upstream fight.

    Tis unnatural and stressful

    To go against the flow

    Better to accept one’s path

    Enjoy it! And conserve strength

    Not for the impossible

    But for that occasional tendency

To be separate from the main current.

    Not until the heavens

Take it up into the sky

    Does the water get rebirthed

With an opportunity to live again

And be baptised within its own rain.

  • A New Day! Let’s start the day off with a PayPa…

    A New Day!

Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

    This Morning

Woke this morning at 5:49 feeling pretty good. Went back to sleep immediately and woke at 7:30 in sheer fear and panic.

I walked the dog hoping to calm and it helped. Bonus that she actually did her business outside. I found urine in her cage this morning so this theory that dogs never go in their cages is wrong. Of course, she does accidents when she gets excited so that could have been what the cage was about.

Time to split time between programming, sales and job hunting.

  • Smarter

I have this really neato pressure in my left temple now. I think my brain is growing!

  • False starts

I’ve just spent 2 hours trying to start something. This is not only frustrating but exhausting.

  • Mode change

Programming mode now. All diversions turned off. Perhaps a break to cook dinner shortly. Strike up the programming music!

  • Amy is standing at the top of the stairs screaming…

Amy is standing at the top of the stairs screaming her head off while I am trying to make phone calls. Now she has change to whimpers and tears. Noah zombied by the television and Sarah hypnotised by the computer.

I need to work with businesses that only work late at night.

  • Help!

I’m driving my wife crazy and I don’t know how to stop! Note: It’s not as fun as you’d expect it to be.

  • Of Grasshoppers

Student: What should I wear today?

Teacher: Whatever you laid out last night.
