Dead mouse found on couch. (the cat really wanted us to know she’d done her job) Fortunately (for the cat) it died of internal injuries or heartattack so the couch wasn’t messy. Tom properly rewarded and encouraged to do more!

Programmers Wanted
This is too terribly funny in light of my current searching. I had to borrow this image from CollegeHumor.com (this link is to the original picture and is worksafe however the site CollegeHumor.com has suggestive banners and links to non-worksafe material)

Remember when? Nope..
Ever since I was about 11 I’ve had this concern over losing memories. Some sob stole a journal from me that I’d kept for 3-5 years. (Theft was years ago and I still haven’t fully gotten over it–at least they found a way to make a memory stick!) That was heartbreaking! Here’s an article about Making a Vivid Memory
A study in the May 27 issue of Neuron confirms previous models of memory recall that found sensory-specific components of a memory are preserved in sensory-related areas of the brain. The hippocampus can draw on this stored sensory information to create vivid recall. It’s a short article with nothing of great interest except the link to KidsHealth referencing the The Nemours Foundation -

A New Day!
Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:
This Morning
Ice thawing between wife and self.Yesterday
Had an interperson interview with a really interesting company. Again, slow moving with the job possibility not to be realized before the end of the month. The types of jobs I need, qualify for, and pay correctly are sluggish corporations. My lack of degree hurts badly. -
Break
Took a much needed mental break and cleared park of the hillside.

Scheduled haircut. Spoke to friend about hauling off a bunch of his manure to fill holes in my yard and make beds for planting.
Worked on my new business cards. Plain Jane but something to hand out that shouldn’t cost a fortune to print.

Lunch time. Bad time for cold calls. So time to shift focus. First, schedule haircut.
Must decide:
a) online job searching, monster etc
b) make new business card
c) draft letter to businesses that want info
d) draft marketing flyer
e) plan list of calls to make on my referral network
f) get fancied up and visit some temp agencies -
Political Funds and where they come from
What an exceptional site! How fund[sic]! Search on your zipcode to see who around you is funding what candidate Fundrace.org
The depressing part is that The City of Knoxville gave $2000 to Bush. Unfortunately, I live in the county or I’d be complaining!

Cold calls
I really hate cold calls.

Prospects
After a strong negative, I got a positive on a cold call. Now to consider my sales closing skills as I could have handled this better.

I’ve got to get me one of these! M-System’s Xkey 2.0, a USB key drive with a 32-bit processor inside it that lets you run programs right off of it. Thanks to Tim for the link! (who in turn got his link from Russ)
