Sympathethic Calf Cramps
So I wake at 12:30! I’m thrilled. I can get 5-6 hours of work in before the house activity starts!
So at 3:30 I open my eyes and lie in bed listening to someone wandering about. Shortly later Amy wanders into the bedroom. It’s only natural that I want to stay in bed and keep her between Cathy and I for safety.
A few minutes later I’m punished with a calf cramp that makes me want to scream.
At 4:30 I rise to get to work. I’m particularly happy because the dog has chosen to stay in the bed with Amy and Cathy which should make Cathy very happy. I have this happy thought as I climb the stairs and by the last step the dog is behind me. I close the gate trapping her downstairs. She’ll punish me by spoiling the carpet I’m sure.

Archeology
Cleaning is fun. I just found two unopened bottles (safety seals intact) of multivitamins on my desk that expired in March…
of 2003.

Kids do the darnest things!
I missed a photo opportunity of a lifetime this morning!
As if a scene taken right out of a movie, Wierd Science perhaps?, one of the boys had his underwear on the outside of his sweatpants! When confronted on this his reply was “I didn’t know [they were on the outside]” but he quickly rectified the situation. I really don’t want to try to imagine why they ended up on the outside.

I hate asking for help
I’m so bad at asking for help. I’ll undergo unnecessary pain before asking for help. I’d give up limbs to others in need while refusing a bandaid from others for myself. The inability to ask for or graciously accept help must be my greatness weakness.
I made strides today. I swallowed my pride, picked up the phone and began making phone calls to see if I can get on Medicaid or (the defunct) TennCare or something. Shoot. Maybe someone has a grant money that could come our way if we were to do some gestational diabetes study for them. The news seems to imply that if superstars give out $10k and $20k for the right sob story but you won’t catch my children spending the night with any of them. Anyone know a superstar needing a good tax rightoff?

Getting Organized
A messy desk kills me. I haven’t seen the surface of my desk in a year. I’ve begun the great organization. Having discovered my floor yesterday has motivated me to do more.
Dry erase addiction. I love to work with a dry erase board. I’m very visual so it helps in my teachings and presentations to draw and a dry erase board is just such a beautiful medium for planning.
Do not automatic until the manual process works! A dry erase board also helps you work out processes that can later be automated. My database designs, business rules, etc all begin on dry erase.
Yesterday I re-hung a dry erase board that had be tucked away in the garage. I instantly felt like a saved person!
