Evening Chaos slows

Returned home with the 7 yr old and unloaded the car. Began cooking pizzas for dinner and refueled the fire. Checked on the sick 10 yr old. Fever still high but feels cooler to me. Cooked 2 pizzas and fed the wife, the 7 yr old, the 13 yr old and myself. Cooked cup cakes for devouring tomorrow. Refueled fire.

Sam Walton is evil

Whew! Shopping done. I can’t step foot in Walmart or Home Depot without dropping $100. Anyhow, minus the forgotten milk, we are set for the next couple of days.

Cooking home made pizzas tonight. Maybe some treats. Ran into the guy hired to be a meat cutter at Walmart. He was hired before they changed business models. Now ALL meat is shipped in prepackaged. He sounds bitter but exclaimed “at least I get paid meat cutter wages to be a stock boy.”

Braggin on baby

My computer crashed yesterday when I was trying to brag on the 20 mth old. Yesterday as I was preparing breakfast, I pulled out our George Foreman Grill to fry up some sausage (btw, this is a great addition to the kitchen!) and the baby, unprompted, seeing me pull the grill out says “hot hot” and blows twice. It’s adorable and makes me feel better that she recognizes things, like the wood stove, as hot and dangerous.

I told her she was smart and she said “smart” while doing the Baby Sign for “smart.” My wife signs great and I do ok but we still went to http://www.babysigns.com and bought the whole system. It really works!

Baby Feeds Dog; Dog Feeds Baby

For those pets lovers that have infants chowing on the dog food, put your mind at ease: Toddler dines on dog food

I asked a nutritionist …

…In fact, she said, from a strictly nutritional standpoint, most dog food is superior to the diets of many Americans, including American children (and socioeconomics, she added, has nothing to do with this).

I also checked with a pediatrician …

…he said he has yet to see a child who suffered ill effects from eating dog food, even though dog and child were also sharing bacteria.

The Day Thus Far

Baby and I shared waffles. 13 yr old in great spirits and helping in kitchen. Brewed decaf tea, made coolaid, and brewed coffee. Refueled fire (still had coals!). Read the Sunday paper. Got phone calls from inlaws stating that the 7 yr old and 10 yr old are both sick. Should make for a fun week.

Attitude: Inspired to make sales

Add to want to do list: HomeDepot run to insulate this backdoor (although it’s going to be nearly 60 degrees at the end of the week. We should suffer through a few more days of cold and deal with it later).
