Get a new domain name for 50 cents March 8, 2006 10:33 amPosted by Doug McCaughan in : Of Interest
Slickdeals.net tells us that today between 5pm and 6pm EST or until all coupons are gone (think within 3 minutes) that Dotster will be issuing a 50 cent coupon for a new domain name registration if purchased today or tomorrow.
One coupon per order, per account and/or per IP address. There will be a total of 1000 coupon codes. The promotion will last for 1 hour or until the 1000 coupon codes are gone. The coupon will be valid on March 9 & March 10, so the Happy Hour will ONLY be to GET their individual, unique coupon code, they can’t actually purchase their domain until the next day.
Some of the post comments are negative on Dotster but I personally have used Dotster forever and trust them far more than GoDaddy and other registrars. This one unconfirmed bit of information was interesting:
Their normal prices are $14.95 unless you initiate a transfer to godaddy.com then they will send you an email telling you how they will lower the charge to $8.95.
Dear Dotster customer,
Our records indicate you are transferring your domain(s) from Dotster to Go Daddy Software, Inc.. If you are transferring due to your current account pricing, I would like to take this opportunity to offer you a permanent price reduction on your Dotster account.
If you decide to take advantage of this offer, your new, permanent Dotster account pricing will include the following –
* $8.95 Registrations and Renewals for .com, .net, .org, .info, .us, and .biz domains.
* $7.75 Transfer pricing for the same TLD’s listed above.
* FREE URL Forwarding
* FREE Email Forwarding
* FREE DNS Management
* FREE Whois Privacy
* No ICANN Fees
If the registrar you are transferring to has a more competitive offer please let me know and I’ll do my best to match or beat their offer.
To take advantage of this new account pricing, simply reply to this e-mail and let me know you’re interested, and indicate whether you’d like your transfer cancelled or not. I’ll send you a confirmation once I’ve updated your account with the new pricing. If you are not interested in taking advantage of this offer, you do not need to reply to this e-mail. You’re transfer is only cancelled if you specify that you want it to be cancelled.
