3-D Sidewalk art

Thank you Snopes for showing us that Kurt Wenner’s artwork is real. These sidewalk 3-D art pieces are mindboggling enough to really trip someone up. Please note that this is a drawing on a flat sidewalk including the rocks that people are standing on.

A New Day!

Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

This Morning

I woke once in the night and knew the fire needed wood but my body wouldn’t move. Up at 7:30 got dressed, blogged and am now heading upstairs to help the wife get ready for this wild and crazy day. Its a nightmare schedule!

Last Night

Tried to download lindowsOS and my computer was acting up so I didn’t get to do the typing I wanted. Fell asleep betwee 10-11 and slept like a rock.

Adventures at 7 years old February 7, 2004 12:00 am

So, as I’m about to walk out the door to pickup the 13 yr old the 10 yr old comes in and says “Is the 7 yr old supposed to be going to a friend’s house? He didn’t get off the bus.” I quickly call the school and while talking to them the bus driver comes through on call waiting. He says he’ll wait up the street and I bolt out.

When I get to the street where the bus is I turn on flashers and park in the middle of the road (not many other options). I wave to the bus driver and walk over to get Noah. I’m cheerful and not scary. He’s been crying and is obviously upset. We talk about it and say it was no big deal. Then he goes with me to pickup the 13 yr old.

When we return home, I get a phone call from his teacher that begins “I should probably talk with your wife” then she hesitates and basically says “I guess I could discuss this with you”. I think my presence at the house rocked her world. Long and short. The wife and I spent the next 1.5-2 hours talking to Noah about why he’d said to a girl in the class “Do you have sex with your dad?” or “You have sex with your dad.” Basically 4 boys and the girl were gathered around a school publication that had a picture of THE girl holding hands with her dad. The boys acted like 7 yr olds and were teasing here. The 7 yr old’s definition of sex “kissing”. The girl’s mother isn’t upset but just wanted us to know.

This guy is going to be Cassanova in highschool or maybe middleschool. I guess we will be buying him condoms for his 11th birthday.

7 yr old stayed on bus instead of getting off. After recovering him, he and I proceeded to the middle school to pickup the 13 yr old who apparently had a pretty good day and entered one more class. I’m flabbergasted. It sounds like the school is doing what we want them to do!

Close up of Janet’s breast covering in Justin’s hand. Shows fake red lace and snaps (deception and intention respectively). But then again, who cares!

The creek in one spot is nearly over its banks. I’ve never seen it this high! Note to self: Keep a close eye on the bedroom and garage floors!

Good News/Bad News February 6, 2004 11:43 am

Good News: The $40,000 owed on the student loans will not be making a bad mark on the credit report!

Bad News: We are stuck in the delinquent loans program another 12 months.

Good News: We are paying $100 per month instead of $550!

Bad News: It’s actually like $47,000 because we don’t get to refinance at today’s interest rates.

What happened? Our account handler is no longer with the law firm. Apparently, had we done the reconsolidation through WD Ford that he directed us to do we would have had a $47,000 bad debt showing on our credit report (granted, its only for 7 years but that could have impacted getting a new house, van, etc.) Since the December payment of $550 bounced and we didn’t get it paid by Jan 15 we didn’t qualify for the reconsolidation. The bummer is that the December payment could have been adjusted to $100 and we could have been reconsolidated. Ugh!

Back from the school. What a hoot! The two biggest loud mouths in the class were side by side and no one could hear a word they were saying. The 7 yr old was scared quiet. He did a great job! I’m a proud dad. The whole wax museum is a hit!

Body of missing girl found We knew this is how it would end. So, how do I protect my own children? Would my 10 year old simply comply to a firm grip and walk away to never be seen alive again? I would hope not! We should not be faced with having to taint the pure minds of children with these kinds of discussions but the only way to prevent these types of crimes is to prepare our children for the possibility.

Perhaps if we put prozac into the water we could save minds and lives like fluoridation saved teeth.
