Was feeling lousy. Went down for a powernap and awoke briefly energized and feeling great! However, it suddenly occured to me that I needed to give fair treatment to the other side of my body so I flipped and powernapped again and awoke rearing to go but now I’d had to much time to think and was panicing myself so another power nap to calm the mind (this becomes not a power nap but “hiding”); however, I was saved by a a friend with a technical question. Thank you!

Note: I’m on day 5 of 0, zilch, none, no caffeine; that’s down from 2 full pots of coffee a day plus several cokes.

I should mention that the other children are all off to school. Tommy slipped away while I was driving the others to school. I saw his bus as I was returning home. Sarah just moved like she didn’t care if she was late and was very perturbed that her report card was not ready to go. She declared “you must send a note!” which I did.

Nothing more disgusting than having a baby use your shirt as a handkerchief for green snot.

The baby is happy and energetic. Read me two stories already. Found a picture in the paper that she thought was “mama.”

Trama resolved.

The air in the house is so dry. I feel like my skin could just flake off. I’m so dehydrated. Outside it’s like a tropical rain forest which reminds me that the rainy season is coming and I’m short the $1000 I need to finish the French drain in front of the house. It will take me a week by myself or 2 weekends with a couple of strong backs helping me. I need to rent a backhoe, purchase pipe, rock, tar (or other sealant), thick mil’d plastic, and 2 or 3 dumps of soil. If I rent the backhoe, I can use it to move rock and dirt around. However, it might behoove me to pay someone with experience to dig out the ditch ($50/hr expect 4-6 hours) then rent a Bobcat to move stuff around. For this yard, buying a used Bobcat would probably be wise.

This Morning

Woke at 5 could not get up.

Woke again at 6:10. Rats. Too much to get done this morning; unmatching bright socks and unfinished homework. Trama begins early. The socks match.

Last Night

The wife and I watched family guy and talked in bed. We are over the rough weekend. Took some cold medicine that put me out hard.

I see Cathy has invited our television to join our soft addiction to blogging. I’ve always wondered what that hollow brain sucking box was thinking!

Beginning to doubt that I inherited my father’s woodworking skills

More programming accomplished.

Enzimes added to slow sink upstairs. Crossfingers; I’d hate to think I didn’t have the pipes angeled enough. I’m thinking that there was an awful lot of corrison from the lack of use of those pipes and that something just needs to be freed in the pipes. Hmm. Corrison would be inorganic and the enzimes would be of no use. I may need to snake the pipes. No big deal.

Time to work on the pinewood derby car.

You know that feeling you have when you’ve had a congested head cold for several days and you are just starting to feel better and you yawn real big and suddenly everything is more clear. Yeah, that’s the one!

Productive morning of coding. Getting hungry.

Weather outside is great; however, I suspect a storm is brewing.

I have taken the 7 yr old and 10 yr old to school. Tommy jumped from his chair as I came down the street thinking I was the bus. Searched him and removed contraband (D&D dice and books); I’m certain there was more. He is just in one of those kinds of moods.

Was pleasantly surprised to find wife and baby awake although I’m certain it was Tommy and I raising voices to each other that got her up in the first place. I am trying harder and harder not to get into shouting contests with him and I am doing much better.

Now I will do some rapid programming followed by phone calls and hopefully a couple of resume submissions and then some financial stuff. I feel better physically although I’m still achy; my stomach feels weak from nerves; my mind is in control but feels like it could race at a moments notice.

This Morning

Awoke to the 13 yr old’s tapping on the wall at 4:40 and although energized, I could not motivate myself to go work on the computer.

Woke again at 6:10 to get the 7 yr old and 10 yr old ready for school.

My lips are dry and cracking despite pumping water, gatoraid, and v-8 into my system. Chapstick seems to be helping. My throat remains a firey torture. Yesterday I thought the throat was on the mend.

Last Night

Settled in early with a fire roaring.
