Posted by djuggler in : Daily LifeJust snaked the pipes in the upstairs bathroom. I hope it was sufficient. I’d really like to go in with a rented one that would do a better job. I may schedule that for a weekend once a year and just snake all the pipes.
Before I can reassemble the pipes I have one more length of pipe I want to clean out. Long blonde hair all over the place…hmmm.. I suspect I’ll be snaking the pipes frequently for the next couple of decades.

Posted by djuggler in : Daily LifeIndian tribes sue to reclaim about a third of Colorado, but will settle for a single casino Thanks Fark for the headline!
I think this is ridiculous. Some of these Indian’s asking for their land back are about as much Indian as I am Irish. Well the Irish were screwed in America too! I want justice. The Irish built most of Knoxville. I want a third of Knoxville but I’ll settle for a nice office building!
Other stories like Cherokees get coveted Smokies land where the Great Environmentalist GW Bush gave 143 acres for the purpose of building schools (you watch how quickly the schools become casinos) irritate me to no end. Yes! Part of the construction of the Blue Ridge Parkway was an agreement that the lands would be handed over but over time I think the value of the National Park as a natural resource outweights the necessity to honor that deal and that compensation should have been made in other ways. Besides, all my maps are screwed now. There are also vast treasures to be found in the Smokies for the outdoor adverturer that gains the skills and permission to go off trail. Cabins can still be found with tables set, watches in place etc just as if someone had been living in them yesterday. Taking land from the Smokies destroys such history not to mention the environmental impact from the construction vehicles and human habitation of that 143 acres. It was an idiotic move.

Look! Jobs I can do in Iraq!
EMW has an immediate need for a Network Engineer to support US Military operations in Iraq.
ok. I think giving anyone that works in an IT department a “gun” is a bad idea!

Posted by djuggler in : Daily Life The Museum of Unworkable Devices is a fun place to visit. Within it ther are several places like the Gallery of Ingenious, but Impractical Devices This site is fun and irritating. I know just enough to believe that some of these devices should work and just enough to know why they don’t.
In the 7th grade I did a science project on perpetual motion where I hooked a generator to a motor. The generator was started by a crank and was supposed to power the motor which would in turn power the generator and so forth. I was very steamed that I could not get this to work.

This Morning
Awoke at 12:52am to a crying baby. She had moved from her bed to the hardwood floor. There is a soft mat near the bed that she could have chosen but instead was on the floor. I hugged her, gave her a fresh pacificer and put her back to sleep. At 5:50 she was crying again but from the bed this time. I brought her down to the crib and stirred the crew.
Last Night
Was more tired than I thought I was. Watched some of Groundhog Day with the wife. Went back to errands around the house then returned but didn’t even make it through Futurama.

Posted by djuggler in : Daily LifeI spent the afternoon fighting computer problems. My art machine seems to have lost its video card and my development box won’t open a word document without word crashing. My copy of Office 2003 which I was saving to install on a new box has vanished into this garbage pit of a desk (Alro Gurthrie would be proud). And my laptop is so slow I wonder how I ever accomplished anything in the past.
I took Noah to soccer practice. I really enjoy the time with Noah. I spent most of the time talking to a mother who’s son is a first timer. She sounded a whole like like Cathy and I talking about Noah. She also complimented Noah’s playing ability. Once again, evidence that Noah is just a normal all American 8 year old boy (8 next month).
