Spent most of my time between activities trying to fix Cathy’s Windows 98 computer which was not allowing the .Net Framework to be installed. I kept running into “Internal Error 2???” and a “1935” error. This wonderful site finally helped solve the problem.

Wife and I had quality time. Good conversation.

The 5 Love Languages as defined by Gary Chapman are:

1. Words of Affirmation

2. Quality Time

3. Receiving Gifts

4. Acts of Service

5. Physical Touch

My love language may very well be Acts of Service but I’m not sure yet; it could be Words of Affirmation. Cathy’s is definitely not Acts of Service. I suspect Cathy’s love language to be Quality Time.

Knoxville Traffic

My grandfather used to tell this joke:

I was riding in the car with a friend of mine once and we came to a green light and he stopped. The light turned red and he went through it. The next light was green and he stopped. When it turned red he went through it. I was getting nervous so I asked my friend if he ever had any driving lessons and he said “Sure! My brother taught me how to drive.” So I said “Well surely you know that green means ‘go’ and red means ‘stop’?” to which he replied “of course I do but my brother might be on that other street!”

To put a little cheese on the top my grandfather would add:

My friend’s name was ‘Red’ and in response I blurted out “Right on! Red!” so he turned right at the red light and from that day forth it’s been legal to make righthand turns at red lights.

David Hasselhoff Arrested

David Hasselhoff Arrested

David Hasselhoff was arrested over the weekend on suspicion on driving while intoxicated, police said Monday.
The arresting officer was heard saying “He truly believes that he wasn’t driving and told me that ‘Kit’ must have had too much high octane gas. As I put [David] in the cruiser he turned toward the car and yelled ‘I told you not to sniff jet fuel!’ I swear the car backfired at that point.”

Must calm

Mind racing. Thoughts on:

* dwindling money in checking account

* dying transportation

* ability to fix all problems but lack resources

* job submissions and how stinking long it will take for one to turn into anything

* $0 and lots of attempts at bigger $$ vs $7-9/hr and no time for submissions and interviewed vs $40-65/hr out of town

* yard work

* home repair

* doing things that make me feel good

Good smells

My wife put on some patchouli on similar scent last night and it still lingers in the house wherever she had been. It’s a wonderful smell! Of course she put it on just before heading out for the evening … hmmmm

I typically am turned off by perfumes but she has nailed this one. It’s distinct too. I can’t smell it without having vivid images of this wonderful person. I have jars of my grandfather’s cologne (from 1965!) and it’s a similar pleasure. The smell is absolutely unique to him. I’ve pondered trying to ebay the unique jars of cologne (jars are in the shapes of cars) but I think they are much more valuable just being able to share moments with him periodically.
