Curve Balls

Received a call last night saying the zoo is telling us that we cannot setup today when scheduled that instead it will have to be late tonight or tomorrow morning. Without the scheduled labor, this effort could take a full day to accomplish. I know when I did it mostly on my own I was at the zoo until 2am then back again at 4am but that also had a lot to do with setting up some complex booths that we don’t have this year.

We will be talking more with the zoo at 9am. Crossed fingers!

Ball of Energy

Amy woke at 6:48–far too early. I left her in the room to play while I took the elementary students to school. I figure the monitor is on and Cathy will hear incase Amy needs attention.

Amy just handed me her banana saying “Dada eat. Dada eat.” And I asked “you don’t want it?” and she said “I don’t want it” while shaking her head no. Amazing!

Books

I forgot to mention that Noah declared over the past several days “I’ve run out of books to read.” So, I started him on Haze and he seems to be eatting it up! This is Noah, the 2nd grader, who turns 8 years old on May 24th. I am interested in seeing if he relates the story at all to his brother Tommy

For fun I just asked Noah, “How old are you?” And he replies, “7 but I’m going to be turning 9.” Mornings are so hard on these kids!

A New Day! Let’s start the day off with a PayPa…

A New Day!

Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

This Morning

I slept like a rock last night. Woke at 5am long enough to silence the alarm then arose at 6am to slowly get dressed and dragged the kids from bed at 6:10.

Last Night

Enjoyed an episode of Futurama with the wife.

Exercise!

I left the house. I ran. It felt good.

That was probably the first time I’ve seriously run in 4 years! I used to run 2 miles a day. Granted, that is not as much as the serious exercisers but it got my heartrate up for the 20 minutes that I needed it there. This run was very short but more than just down the street and back. It’s a good start.

Let the Shoe Do the Walking

Adidas creates ‘smart shoe’

This shoe adjusts the cushioning, making the adjustments when your foot is in the air, using a tiny motor, screw and cables to make the shoe wear better and increase the performance of the runner. Now all we have to do is replace the knee bone and the thigh bone and a few others pieces then we can sit on the couch and watch ourselves on television running around the neighborhood.

Dad mode

Took Noah to scouts and he passed from Wolf to Bear. I said I would most likely participate as a co-leader next year since the troop will continue to be very large. After that I dropped Noah off and ran to the store to get Sarah some more paint pens for her project and did some shopping for food and beverages.

Now trying to decide if I have the gumption to go run for 20 minutes. Let’s see if I can cause a heart attack by doing the thing that is suppose to prevent heart attacks.

My allergy cough is up and I’m concerned that I’ll cough through the performance on Saturday. My emails to the club were too little, too late so I’m on my own again.
