Andy Kaufman died of lung cancer on May 16, 1984, but according to legend, the eccentric comedian said if he were faking, he’d resurface 20 years later to the day. -
From the mouths of babes
I’m flabbergasted!
The 23 month old just loudly and very deliberately with enunciation Aunt Mary would have appreciated said, “[L]Ucy – stop – it! — dat’s – baby’s – ereal!” after spilling her cereal on the floor and seeing the dog go over to eat it.
Two sentences! One thought! Noun verb pronoun — pronoun contraction(verb) noun possessive noun(object of possessive).

This Morning
Slept deep last night. Woke at 4am to a crying baby and was wide enough awake that I was extremely tempted to stay up and exercise and prepare for my interview this morning.Woke again at 5 and then got out of bed at 5:30 to bathe, print resume and suit up and head out for a 7am interview at Cracker Barrel. Hopefully there will be a 2nd interview this week.

Juggling Show
This Morning
Today is the day! I juggle from 10:15 to 10:30. I had wanted to spend the entire last year coming up with a completely different routine. I’m going to have to go with some of the same ol’ dry material but remember its new to my audience. I’ve thrown in enough new stuff to keep it interesting for the regulars.Things I should have achieved for this year: background music preferrable choreographed, the head roll, 5 clubs, 7 balls, and a clownish routine involving height.
It will still be much fun and a great show.

What I should be doing—what I’ll do
I should be checking my gear, loading it in the car, doing some practice with the torches, preparing my costume then relaxing in bed.
I want to relax in bed and thinking about my performance…and have a beer.

The afternoon
Ran to the zoo with the wife and baby. We got things setup. Had to move the stage which was a royal pain. The volunteers did an exceptional job putting the tents and tables together. The animals look great. The morning adjustments will be a breeze with perhaps the exception of the sound system.
At the end Amy crawled up in one of the chairs settled in and we all admired her and were laughing when suddenly the chair folded in half. She came centimeters from wacking her head on a fence post and a piece of concrete. However, I knew in my heart and head that she was fine. She didn’t even cry out until someone rushed to her and I think she was more upset that she was stuck in an awkward position. After she had a moment to think about it she cried from the fright but very very shortly afterwards says clearly “baby OK.”
We dropped Amy off at the grandmother’s office then went to East Towne Mall to shop in Victoria’s Secret! (I’ll let your minds wander) Ended up drinking some fantastic lemonade. Headed to the alterations shop to pickup my tux pants for tomorrow’s performance. Then headed home to get Noah some fresh clothes. Ran to the church where Tommy was in the car in the parking lot (when he saw us he was supposed to run in and get his grandfather..he didn’t move), Noah and Sarah were singing in choir practice, and their grandfather was enjoying their practice. We enjoyed some time there; the kids were all great.
Next we headed to Smart Toys for some necessary shopping. It was strange being in a toy store without having to herd kids. I got to schedule a preliminary job interview too! (Step 1)
Next stop Big Lots. We stopped at a store that sells nothing, with intentions to buy nothing, almost bought something that was nothing, and left with nothing. We are so pathetic!
Grabbed some gas and headed home. Scheduled the job interview for Sunday morning at 7am.

Warehousing
Went to the warehouse of an event planner and pulled a bunch of stuff for this year’s zoo event. The setup should be a breeze since we aren’t doing the carnival games this year.

Went to see Sarah’s 5th grade invention convention. There were some very sharp projects.

Curve Balls
Received a call last night saying the zoo is telling us that we cannot setup today when scheduled that instead it will have to be late tonight or tomorrow morning. Without the scheduled labor, this effort could take a full day to accomplish. I know when I did it mostly on my own I was at the zoo until 2am then back again at 4am but that also had a lot to do with setting up some complex booths that we don’t have this year.
We will be talking more with the zoo at 9am. Crossed fingers!

My little nudist
Amy seems determined to get naked today.

Ball of Energy
Amy woke at 6:48–far too early. I left her in the room to play while I took the elementary students to school. I figure the monitor is on and Cathy will hear incase Amy needs attention.
Amy just handed me her banana saying “Dada eat. Dada eat.” And I asked “you don’t want it?” and she said “I don’t want it” while shaking her head no. Amazing!

Books
I forgot to mention that Noah declared over the past several days “I’ve run out of books to read.” So, I started him on Haze and he seems to be eatting it up! This is Noah, the 2nd grader, who turns 8 years old on May 24th. I am interested in seeing if he relates the story at all to his brother Tommy
For fun I just asked Noah, “How old are you?” And he replies, “7 but I’m going to be turning 9.” Mornings are so hard on these kids!

This Morning
I slept like a rock last night. Woke at 5am long enough to silence the alarm then arose at 6am to slowly get dressed and dragged the kids from bed at 6:10.Last Night
Enjoyed an episode of Futurama with the wife.
