Cover letter written! Resume printed. Time to deliver (40 minute round trip drive).
Year: 2004
Time wasted?
I’ve piddled away an hour blogging, reading email and getting an RSS Aggregator working. Now that its time to get serious I expect that Amy will awaken and I’ll have to be upstairs until the rest of the family comes around.
The Next Project
Here’s what comes next.
This trench needs to go down another 3 feet (1 m) and be dug across the full 44′ (13.4 m) length of the house. Living on a hillside the heavy rains had started to leak through the walls. The trench in its current state in conjunction with the waterproofing inside the house has stopped the problem; however, it would be a mistake to not fix it correctly. This is a hazard, an eye sore, and a lot of work!
Estimated project cost: $1000
Needs: Backhoe, 20 tons of rock (20,321 kg), 20 tons topsoil, tar for waterproofing the wall, pvc pipe pre-drilled, lots of burlap, hammer drill
My hopeful goals are to take advantage of the trench being open to run an additional sewer discharge along the front of the house as well as an extension of the incoming water so that an additional structure (be it a shed or a stand alone garage) can easily tie into having water–hmm, that may be to code though and would require a permit and inspection. Crud!
A New Day! Let’s start the day off with a PayPa…
A New Day!
Let’s start the day off with a PayPal donation link:

This Morning
Woke at either 1:00am or 1:20am to find the girls (Sarah and friend) still awake. They are going to be grumpy today!
Woke at 4:15 but could not convince self to get out of bed. Allllmost got out of bed to run around the neighborhood.
Woke at 5:00 but could not convince self to get out of bed. Allllmost got out of bed to stretch but decided it would be too much work to make a spot to stretch. Lamer.
Woke at 6:20 and rose 10 minutes later to brew a pot and start my day!
Goals: Hand deliver a resume and cover letter that should have been done yesterday. Submit more resumes. Market the content management system and market self. Oh, and get crayon out of the clothing as promised to wife.
To do versus What will be done
I know I should stay up and work into the wee hours. I have letters to write, miracles to perform, mediations, stretching, cleaning, organizing, and so much more. But sleep calls…
Coolness
Ok. Let’s follow this. I was reading Sanity Adrift and happened to be reading the comment to what’s on your pizza? that read “caught your post on ‘shouting into the void‘” and being a regular reader of Shouting Into the Void (and having survived the Void of the Void) I felt I must jump over to see what this was about. Turns out Sanity Adrift was honored as a Guest Host which I feel is a fantastic concept. Of course, this led me to read on and catch up on The Void which mentioned, something I somehow missed, that Blogger now has free audioblogging! (See AudioBlogger.com and this from the Blogger Dashboard News). I read on from Shouting Into the Void to learn that the great blogman himself, Wil Wheaton (an avid Geocacher I might add) has an audio blog WWDN’s Audioblog. I found myself unable to break away from his commentary. I could enjoy this too much! There have been many times where I’ve wanted to get philosophical driving down the road. My first audio blog is on my test blog where I do experiments to see how the new Blogger features work.
Are you trying your damnest? No, I’m not.

Ok. I had to take some time to edit some pictures. Here’s our family poser. No known candid shots. Thankfully she enjoys making chocolate chip cookies! ![]()
Lefty’s the only peoples in their right mind?
Oops. I forgot that our morning person has been up for awhile. Noah makes a presence. He is our only left handed person in the family. Goes to sleep early and is out instantly. Gets up early. Is almost always cheerful. Is just a great guy.
Sleepy Heads
Amy is first to rise at 8:37.
Bug found
Found the css bug in Cathy’s blog. Yet another reason to use Firefox instead of Internet Exploder.
I do like the fact that on this machine Cathy uses IE and I use Firefox. Our cookies don’t intefere with each other and our saved settings don’t get mixed up. If it doesn’t already exist, that would be a nice plug in or feature for Firefox “multi-users.”
