Posted by Doug McCaughan in : Daily Life, Evan, Family, Of Being Dad, PhilosophyI am trying to work. Evan comes downstairs carrying a game CD and a case for Mart Kart Wii because he likes playing Mart Kart Wii with me. Instead of acknowledging the cuteness and giving him the 4 minutes it takes for him to get bored with the game, I got frustrated with the distraction and angered that a CD/DVD was out of its case being handled by a three year old. Don’t ever forget, they just want your love and your attention! To give a child what they want often takes very little. Make the time.

Wassup! October 25, 2008 12:46 pm
Posted by Doug McCaughan in : Humor, Politics, Publishing, Touchy Subjects, United States, VideoAlright Youtube, I’m giving you another chance because this video is just plain funny and has a great end.
Its been eight long years since the boys said wassup to each other. Even with the effects of a down economy and imminent change in the White House, the boys are still able to come together and stay true to what really matters.
For reference, here is the original wassup commerical:

In PA the vote is split between Obama and McCain October 1, 2008 5:33 pm
Posted by Doug McCaughan in : Humor, Politics, Touchy Subjects, United StatesThis is why you should never get your news from FOX! I really like the lady in the back right smacking her husband’s arm as he tries to raise it for McCain.
Note for when Youtube takes the video down. A reporter asks for a show of hands for McCain voters vs Obama voters. Almost every hand is down for McCain and up for Obama but the reporter declares the vote "split."

Evan: "I have to work too."
Dad: "Oh you do? What are you working on?"
Evan: "I work on compshure."
I wish I could live long enough to see a society where our "work" was solely the development and growth of our children and that our skills were simply contributed as needed to the community. Ray, where’s that Singularity?
