High blood pressure? Let your spouse help! January 26, 2006 1:32 pm

“…people who had abstained from sex had the highest blood pressure response to stress” so sex does reduce stress!

“The effects are not attributable simply to the short-term relief afforded by orgasm but rather, endure for at least a week,”

Which in no way implies that  it should only be a once a week activity.

Why me?! January 26, 2006 9:36 am

The day was starting off so well (technically..personally it could improve greatly) and then wham! Just to kill productivity, my mouse flips out and only works in a small portion of my screen. Try to go outside of that and the pointer jumps back to the top of the screen. I reboot and at the WindowsXP user login screen it does the same thing. Guess my day is going to be wasted working on my dev box. At least it works in safe mode so I know its not a hardware issue.

Why does everything have to be such an uphill battle?

Excellent list of Portable USB software January 26, 2006 8:12 am

For people that work between multiple computers (say a home office and a corporate office) or want the security of leaving less of a footprint on a computer, you can install a variety of software packages on a USB drive. Great list!

The game of life is hard to play
I’m going to lose it anyway
The losing card I’ll someday lay
So this is all I have to say

The only way to win is cheat
And lay it down before I’m beat
And to another give a seat
For that’s the only painless feat

What do you use for time tracking? January 26, 2006 5:44 am

I have used Quickbooks Pro’s timer before but mostly I use Allnetic’s Timetracker. I would prefer something decent for my PDA (palmos) but I have strayed from carrying it around and the last time I looked the available time trackers were inadequate. I need something I can wear on my wrist that autosyncs with the nearest computer via bluetooth. That way I can bounce from computer to computer and enter time tracking data from the keyboard (but the device still needs to accept entry from the wrist).

Lost’s Biggest Mystery January 25, 2006 11:42 am

In February we learn ‘why is Hurley still fat?’ after 50 days on the island!

In an e-mail, co-creator/executive producer Damon Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse gave this teasing reply:”Hurley’s inability to lose any significant weight, like many other things on the island, is shrouded in mystery. That mystery, however, will be definitively solved during February sweeps… well, as definitively as anything ever gets solved on ‘Lost,’ anyway.”

The right way to do a video blog January 25, 2006 11:26 am

Know thy Amanda! I believe everyone’s introduction to Rocketboom should be the Sept 27, 2005 episode. That’s my personal favorite episode and the day I started watching.

Rocketboom is a three minute daily videoblog based in New York City. We cover and create a wide range of information and commentary from top news stories to quirky internet culture. Agenda includes releasing each new clip at 9am EST, Monday through Friday. With a heavy emphasis on international arts, technology and weblog drama, Rocketboom is presented via online video and widely distributed through RSS.

I give this program a high recommendation! I read in the comments that Amanda Congdon actually interviewed for the partnership position.

In February Amanda will play herself on CSI! She is graced with her own wikipedia entry. Their show went from a 700 person viewership in 2004 to 70,000 in just 10 months! For the true fans, she also has a blog.

Lost Theory January 25, 2006 10:41 am

I didn’t see real spoilers in this theory but it certainly is thought provoking. The author substantiates his theory about the Lost island with information that can be confirmed through Google.

UPDATE: Apparently Digg picked up on this one and the server is temporarily down.
