Woman Rapes Boy Then Sues Him For Child Support October 6, 2006 12:17 pm

If you got pregnant at 19 ½ when you had sex with a 13 ½ year old boy, at 22 don’t take him to court for child support because he can finally work at 16. Matter of fact, don’t ever ask him for child support.

“But for her having made the application in Family Court, we never would have known about this,” Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan said. “It was such an unusual way to have a case come forward.” [Source]

Quiet Down Class – Don’t Make Me Shoot My Gun! October 6, 2006 9:46 am

Ah! Our reactive society thinks throwing guns at the teachers is going to make our schools safer. Ok. Maybe it will. At what cost? Our future is in the schools now. I am already disturbed by the overwhelming influence that the schools have on the upbringing of our children. I mean, for the bulk of their day we place the development of a human being – morals, ethics, beliefs, integrity, etc – into the hands of burnt out strangers or naive youth. What message are we communicating to the students when suddenly every adult in the school has a sidearm? Either a) we don’t trust you or b) you can’t trust the world. Regardless, we are bringing up our children to not trust and to believe that it is better to unquestionably close ourselves off (ie. lose liberties) in the name of safety. When we are pinching pennies in our retirement homes, what decisions will our youth be making for us as our political leaders?

I am not saying that arming teachers is wrong. Maybe it is necessary. But make it a responsive decision as opposed to a reactive decision. Respond by weighing pros and cons. You know, our airlines would be safer if we instituted strip searches and body cavity searches on ever passenger then sent them naked with their sore orafices to their cold seats. But that is not going to happen is it?

Chlorine gas evacuates Apex, NC (relatively speaking, that’s just east of here – oh perhaps 3 to 500 miles east).

30 miles or so roughlly northwest of us they store the same stuff.

See also CNN coverage. This stuff makes me kick myself for letting my ARC training expire and for not having aquired Molly’s CD certification yet.

Currently on TheHansoFoundation.org:

To all:

The path of secrecy is a slippery slope. While necessity may dictate, at times, that we shade ourselves and our work from the all-too-often harsh light of inquiry, habitual secret-keeping can mire even the noblest of intentions in shadow. it is this shadow I fell prey to, blinded not only to the actions of colleagues like Dr. Thomas Werner Mittelwerk, but also to the works of my own hand.

I fear the lessons learned have cost many their happiness. Some few have even lost their lives. My regret for this is endless. But, I assure you now, as I did then, that the work of The Hanso Foundation has always been intended to bring rebirth to a dying land and a dying people.

Our methods must change. As of this moment, The Hanso Foundation enters a period of restructure and overhaul. Transparency and oversight will be our guiding prinicples, excellence in communication and response to feedback our greatest strengths. To save humanity, we need first tap into just that – our humanity.

Much time has passed – perhaps too much. Thanks to the tireless efforts of my daughter, Rachel Blake, and a worldwide movement set against the dark entity that was Thomas Mittelwerk’s regime, I have been exonerated and freed from imprisonment. Thanks to the grace and foresight of the Global Welfare Consortium, we at The Hanso Foundation have been given a second chance to build a future that can support, enrich, and cradle us all in peace and joy.

It is to this I dedicate my life and my Foundation. My only hope is that you will join me.

Namaste,
Alvar Hanso {signature}

So I had an interesting experience this past Saturday. I am driving Cathy and crew over to her mother’s house so that Noah and I can steal the Dodge Neon since the Jeep was still in pieces on the driveway. Cathy, Sarah, Amy, Evan and Tommy had to go to the ice skating rink after dropping Noah and I off. I had forgotten my cell phone and would not be able to walk her through the back roads if she needed help.

I was verbally giving her a rundown of directions that I thought would get her there most directly with the least amount of chance for getting lost. See, her parents live in this neat little spot of town that is centrally located but somehow not directly connected to anything. Getting anywhere, except the interstate, involves a back road. Well, suddenly I did not know where I was. I could not remember how I got there and I had turned the car around but I only vaguely remember making the turn. It seems liked I was driving in a bright light and the conversation I was having with Cathy didn’t even make much sense at that point. As I re-oriented I almost turned back toward our house instead of the inlaws. It was very bizarre and surreal.

I think what happened was that I started to visualize the directions I was giving Cathy a little too much and started following my own directions. Good puppy.
