Lost in work – Charlie is an Other

Dean was correct. And thanks for the reminder!. I’ve been franticly trying to please my clients. Up at 3:30am and asleep sometime between 10pm and midnight. The rest of the day is work work work with necessary breaks to meet family need. However! I wanted to get one Lost note in from last week.

All the reviews I read were good. I think some people wrongly assess the episode as light. I found it a very necessary and connecting piece. Some of the characters have gone directions that I never expected. Locke was so strong in season one and season two has given him a beating but don’t we all go through that in life? We have our strong moments then we have our times of weakness where no matter how hard we try things don’t seem to go our way. Before I commented on this I had wanted to watch the episode again. Time didn’t permit so here is my comment that I only saw one person so lightly touch on…

Is Charlie working with The Others? Bringing the medicine to Claire was too convenient. It was also wrong. If you medical equipment like that wouldn’t you take it to the doctor instead of to a new born?! And to say he knows it doesn’t hurt because he has tried it is almost admitting that he is getting shots. I seriously doubt the vials would have such specific instructions. If you were among The Others or whomever the medicine is intended, you would be briefed on why and how to use it. Does that make Desmond an Other? The directions are specific to Claire. Charlie did not find the medicine! He was instructed to deliver it.

I am very much looking forward to tonight’s episode!

Boston Legal Sweeps Show Awesome!

My mantra, "What would Alan Shore do?" comes from my second favorite television show, Boston Legal. Minor spoiler ahead.

Last night’s episode was for May sweeps and was exceptional. I liked seeing the Alan and Denny in Los Angeles although I thought Alan’s case wasn’t all that challenging. The prosecution just didn’t make any decent agrument. For me, the highlight of the show was William Shatner breaking the fourth wall with Shirley for the kiss. That caught me totally off guard. I was equally as surprised when James Spader jumped in on the game to reference "next season" with Shatner’s followup question of "same night?" and Spader’s response, "God I hope so." Well played guys!

Lost thoughts

Since I haven’t done my Lost review this week, I’ll post a comment I made on a forum.

I don’t think Walt ever typed anything on the computer. I think it was in Michael’s mind. I think Walt was trying to communicate telepathically and couldn’t get it quite right which is why he was visible to Shannon and Sayid but his speech was backwards. He found it easier to project the typed text into Michael’s mind.

When Jack walked in on Michael after Michael had been talking to Walt on the computer, the screen was blank although Michael did not touch the keyboard and only a second later had been in mid-sentence with Walt.

I think Fake Henry is a strong telepath. Remember Jack saying “you’ve got good ears.” He wasn’t listening through the door. I think when Michael came into the hatch, Henry finally found a mind weak enough to control. Henry, not Michael, shot the drunks, er, I mean examples, er, partiers, er, no, um, ladies…yes, Henry shot the ladies.

I still think that when Henry said to Anna Lucia, “you killed two good people” that he was looking into her mind and referring to incidents off the island.

Time to watch Serenity again

Serenity is being used to promote gender equality.

The move is a direct effort to help raise funds for Equality Now, one of writer/director Joss Whedon’s favorite charities.

Equality Now is an international organization which works to end violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world through the mobilization of public pressure.

WWASD

My favorite television show is Lost. My 2nd favorite is Boston Legal. One of my favorite characters on Boston Legal is Alan Shore portrayed by James Spader (starred in Stargate the movie).

So I have this new anger management plan. Whenever a situation arises with the children, or a phone call (call), or anything else, particularly if I feel myself starting to boil, I pause and ask myself, "What would Alan Shore do?" I did this for several weeks with much success before confiding my plan with my wife. Now she is aware and periodically calls out, "you’re doing it now!" with a grin. I tilt my chin up slightly, give a Mona Lisaesque smile, and reply, "of course I am."

This morning I forgot to ask, "What would Alan Shore do?" It really does make a difference! So, next time the tension hits, just ask, "What would Alan Shore do?"
